Some people think the qualities a person needs to become successful in today's world cannot be learned at a university or similar academic institution. To what extent do you agree or disagree?


一些人认为一个人成功所需的品质不能在大学或其它学术机构中学到。你多大程度上同意或不同意这种说法?


权衡利弊,首段引出主题后,先同意题目观点,指出职场上重视的非学术技能,然后反驳观点,认为大学同样提供了培养各种技能的环境和条件,最后总结全文,认为重要的不是在何处学习,而是学习条件和自身意愿。


(背景句) University education has long been regarded as the essence of creating a skilled and highly productive workforce.(写作主题)As post-industrial economies increasingly move away from heavy manufacturing and hi-tech industries become an important part of their economic growth, the need for educated, skilled technicians is vital to this.


长期以来,大学教育被视为培养高技能和高效率劳动力的关键。随着后工业化经济体逐渐摆脱重工业,高科技产业成为其经济增长的重要部分,对受过教育且技术娴熟人员的需求至关重要。


(过渡句)Even so, some argue that educated worker are not the only requirement for a vibrant, dynamic economy.(观点)People skills and networking abilities are regarded as equally important.(解释观点)Emotional intelligence is a crucial part of this, but it is not something that can be taught, so the argument goes.(进一步解释或例子)However, many companies invest heavily in HR training, providing skills seminars on how people can develop their social, communication and teamwork abilities.
